About the Author

When Bob McDonald started Flagrant Foul in August 2003, he didn't realize that it would take him more than three years to complete. As long as that took, the pre-quel, Dilemma, took considerably less time, as it was completed in January of 2008.

Bob is a two-time graduate of Cleveland State University, attaining a Bachelor of Arts in History in 2002 and a Master of Education in Adult Learning and Development in 2005. He is currently the owner of TOG Solutions, which specializes in a number of creative and writing services for businesses and individuals. He also is a Project Manager at a Cleveland-area Web design firm.

No stranger to writing, Bob's inspiration for Davis Brown, the main character in Flagrant Foul came from his past. He served as a writer and editor for the Cauldron, Cleveland State's student newspaper. He published articles for the Morning Journal in Lorain, Ohio, where he was born and where he graduated from Admiral King High School in 1992.

Bob began writing Flagrant Foul after his involvement with FireRollie.com, a Web site he set up and ran from 2001 to 2003 in protest of then-CSU head coach Rollie Massimino. The site garnered media attention from, among other outlets, WKNR, Cleveland Scene, The Plain Dealer, the Philadelphia Enquirer and CBS Sportsline. His work drew praise from some and ire from other. Undoubtedly, his experience with FireRollie.com can be reflected in the personality of Reggie McCaffrey, one of the major characters in both Flagrant Foul and Dilemma.

Bob McDonald was born on August 5, 1974 and currently resides in Lakewood, Ohio.
